The group on Optical Networks has expertise on routing algorithms in IP over Optical Networks. These networks are a combination of packet switching and circuit switching technologies. Cross-layer strategy can take into account algorithms on both layers in order to improve QoS and network performance. The group has expertise in the following main topics:
